The Isle of Skye is one of the largest of the Scottish Isles. It’s connected to the mainland via bridge, making it easily accessible to travelers. Like the Outer Hebrides and the Far North, Skye is a mountainous place of unusual rock formations. Keen eyes will spot a number of waterfalls along the A87 drive into the island, with plenty of resting places overlooking magnificent scenery. Do be sure to take a trail guide along; Skye is filled to the brim with walks and mountain paths off of the main road where you’ll see turquoise pools beneath clear waterfalls, misty lochs, and otherworldly glens.
